PaxOcean has secured a contract for the construction of five SRP and two VSP tugs for new customer Mailiao Harbor Administration Corporation, a subsidiary of Taiwanese conglomerate Formosa Petrochemical Corporation.
Five of these vessels will be built to PaxOcean’s proprietary ship designs, of which three 2,400HP SRP tugs measures 25 meters with 30-tonne bollard pull. The remaining two 5,000HP tugs measure 29 metres with a 60-tonne bollard pull. Along with the order includes the construction of two other 5,000HP VSP tugs, designed by Robert Allan Ltd.
All seven vessels will be constructed in PaxOcean Graha yard in Batam, Indonesia and scheduled to be delivered during the time frame between 13 – 25 months.
