PaxOcean is on track to deliver a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to Indonesia Company, PT. Jaya Samudra Karunia (JSK).
The FSRU features an LNG storage capacity of 26,000m3 and a maximum regasification throughput of about 50 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd).
The naming of Karunia Dewata was presided by Lady Sponsor Mrs Reny Juniarty, the wife of Mr Jang Sang Kyu, President Director of JSK, at the ceremony in PaxOcean Zhoushan yard in China on 15th August 2018.
Also present at the ceremony was Mr Kuok Khoon Ean, Chairman of Kuok (Singapore) Limited, who officiated the eye-dotting ritual during the lion dance performance as a symbol of a prosperous new beginning.
Mr Tan Thai Yong, CEO of PaxOcean Holdings Pte Ltd, said, “PaxOcean has embarked on the basic design of LNG vessel and platforms a few years ago and we have obtained approval in principle from various class societies. We are proud to build a 26,000m3 FSRU based on PaxOcean design and construct her at our Zhoushan yard.”
Mr Jang added, “JSK has played an important role as a pioneer in this small scale LNG infrastructure by converting existing power generation facilities into clean and affordable liquefied natural gas (LNG), especially within archipelagos in Indonesia where demand remains strong. The JSK and PaxOcean project teams, together with Lloyd’s Register and Korea Register, have worked hard to complete these highly efficient FSRU and I sincerely appreciate the cooperation and effort.”
