PaxOcean’s rig, a GustoMSC CJ46-100XD jackup, is selected by Noble Corporation for their contract in Middle East. Ease of re-activation and the difference in quality are some of the reasons that PaxOcean’s rig is selected, as compared to those available rigs of similar specifications in other shipyards within the region.
It is known that the rig needs to be on site in the Middle East region for the three years drilling contract by early 2019.
Built at PaxOcean Graha shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, the newbuild jackup is designed to operate in water depths of up to 375 feet and drill to 30,000 feet deep. A modern drilling control system and versatile 70 ft. x 40 ft. envelope cantilever skidding system equipped with two blow out preventers contribute to the rig's enhanced drilling capabilities.
This high specification and high performance unit, to be named the Noble Johnny Whitstine will strengthen Noble’s competitive position in the market.
