Mr. Tan Thai Yong

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Tan Thai Yong is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PaxOcean Group, a member of the Kuok Group Singapore (KGSg). He also serves as Managing Director, Strategic Projects and Technology at Kuok Maritime Group (KMG), driving innovation, digital transformation, and the adoption of emerging maritime technologies.

Since joining the Group in 2007 as a Newbuilding Project Manager, Mr. Tan has advanced through various leadership roles, becoming CEO in 2014. A Chartered Marine Engineer with over three decades of experience in marine engineering, vessel construction, and fleet operations—including service onboard naval vessels. He brings deep technical and operational expertise. Under his leadership, PaxOcean has enhanced its capabilities and evolved into a strategic pillar of KMG, advancing the Group’s long-term growth and sustainability goals in the global maritime and offshore sectors.

Mr. Jerome Chew

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Jerome Chew oversees management for shipyards in Southeast Asia under PaxOcean Group including Newbuilding projects, Ship Repair and Conversions business and Green Recycling. He has more than 20 years of experience in Marine Oil and Gas industries.

Mr. Sam Wong

Director,
PaxOcean Greater China Yard

Mr. Sam Wong oversees management for shipyards in China under PaxOcean Group including Newbuilding projects and Ship Repair business.

He has more than 25 years of experience in Newbuilding projects, Ship Repair and the offshore industry.

Mr. Sidat Senanayake

Group Head, Commercial

Sidat is the Group Head of Commercial at PaxOcean where he is responsible for the group’s global commercial activities covering newbuilding, conversions, repairs, and fabrication. He has spent over 20 years covering the maritime and offshore sector in financing, marketing, business development, restructuring and risk management roles. His last role was Head of Risk Management & Compliance for Kuok Group Singapore, the parent company of PaxOcean Group.

Mrs. Banumathi Arasur

Head of Engineering & Technology

Mrs. Banu manages and oversees all aspects of engineering activities and projects for the Group. She is responsible to provide leadership to the department to align engineering initiatives with overall business goals and objectives. She has more than 34 years of experience with multi-disciplinary knowledge encompassing concept design to construction engineering in industries relating to Marine & Offshore, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.
