PaxOcean has secured a fallpipe vessel conversion contract from repeat customer, DEME Group.
The contract is for the conversion of a bulk carrier into a DP fallpipe vessel, which will be fully compliant with the latest emission standards and feature the latest environmental technology, including a battery pack that will operate with optimal fuel efficiency to drive sustainable operations.
The vessel will undergo extensive conversion works in PaxOcean Singapore Tuas yard and is set to join the DEME fleet in the first half of 2024. It will be equipped with a central fallpipe system plus a large, inclined fallpipe to allow pre and post-lay activities close to subsea structures.
Mr Abdul Gahni, Commercial Director of PaxOcean said, “Being part of a project that supports sustainable shipping through the development of green fleets aligns with our purpose of building a sustainable and greener future. The award of this contract is an affirmation of PaxOcean’s proven track record, expertise and value-add in the conversion, upgrading and repair of vessels. We would like to thank DEME for placing their confidence in us and we look forward to a fruitful partnership ahead.”
