A Milestone Achievement in Advancing Indonesia’s Offshore Capabilities

Batam, 30 September 2024– PaxOcean Group proudly announces the successful delivery of Indonesia’s 1st Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel conversion to SKK Migas, Medco E&P Natuna Ltd (Medco E&P) and Hanochem Tiaka Samudera.  This landmark achievement underscores PaxOcean’s role as a pioneering force in the region’s maritime and offshore industry, and signals a significant leap in Indonesia’s offshore capabilities.

The conversion of the FPSO vessel – Marlin Natuna from a tanker, executed at PaxOcean’s  Batam shipyard, represents a bold step forward in supporting Indonesia’s growing energy demands.  The newly converted FPSO will play a pivotal role in enhancing Indonesia’s offshore production and storage capacities, furthering Indonesia's position as a leader in the global energy market.

A Testament to Excellence and Collaboration

This FPSO conversion project marks a collaborative milestone between PaxOcean, SKK Migas, Medco E&P and Hanochem Tiaka Samudera, reflecting the synergy between local industry expertise and global standards of engineering excellence.  The delivery of this advanced offshore asset not only strengthens Indonesia’s maritime infrastructure but also serves as a testament to PaxOcean Batam’s commitment to delivering world-class solutions.

Elevating Indonesia’s Energy Future

This FPSO conversion represents a significant leap in the country’s ability to efficiently process, store and offload hydrocarbons from its offshore fields.  Equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed to withstand Indonesia’s complex offshore environments, the vessel will optimise production and bolster energy security for the nation. 

With an overall length of 183.23 metres, Marlin Natuna has a production capacity of 10,000 BOPD and tank capacity of 250,000 barrels which will be used to accommodate the natural gas and oil of the Forel project produced from Natuna, Riau Islands.
