PaxOcean has closes sale of a second jackup rig built based on the proven Gusto MSC CJ46 design to Noble Corporation. This marked the second purchase of a newbuild jackup rig by Noble following the purchase of Noble Johnny Whitstine earlier in September last year.
Built in PaxOcean Graha shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, the jackup rig will be used to support Noble’s drilling contract with Saudi Aramco.
The rig, to be named Noble Joe Knight, is capable of operating in deep water of up to 375 feet and well depths of 30,000 feet. Equipped with enhanced drilling features, it is supported by a modern drilling control system, along with a versatile cantilever skidding and two blowout preventers.
The purchase of a second rig from Noble reaffirms the quality and ability of PaxOcean’s high specification jack-up units to suit the drilling requirements in Middle East.
