SINGAPORE, 28 May 2026 – PaxOcean Singapore has signed a Technical Service Agreement with GTT, a global technology and engineering group specialising in cryogenic membrane containment systems for the transportation and storage of liquefied gases.

Under this agreement, PaxOcean Singapore is accredited by GTT to provide membrane tank maintenance and servicing for membrane-type liquefied natural gas carriers (LNGCs) in accordance with GTT’s globally recognised standards. This milestone expands PaxOcean Group’s LNG repair and maintenance expertise beyond its Batam yard, which obtained GTT accreditation in 2022 and has built up a track record of supporting LNG carrier repairs for international clients. This commitment reinforces the PaxOcean Group’s role as a trusted partner to the LNG shipping sector across the Asia-Pacific region.

The accreditation follows a stringent technical assessment process conducted by GTT to ensure compliance with required standards of safety, quality assurance, technical capability, and operational readiness for LNGC membrane tank maintenance and servicing.

As LNG adoption continues to grow across Asia, Singapore is strengthening its position as a regional LNG hub, supporting LNG bunkering, vessel operations, repairs, and related marine services. This development creates opportunities for specialised shipyards such as PaxOcean to contribute to the regional LNG ecosystem.

Tan Thai Yong, Managing Director and CEO of PaxOcean, said: “This Technical Service Agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening PaxOcean’s LNGC repair and maintenance capabilities. Building on the existing capabilities in Batam, the agreement enhances our ability to deliver integrated support solutions for LNGC operators across the Asia-Pacific region.”

“We are pleased to support PaxOcean Singapore under this Technical Service Agreement framework. This collaboration reflects PaxOcean’s commitment to meeting GTT’s stringent standards for safety, reliability, and technical excellence in LNGC membrane tank maintenance,” said David Colson, Commercial Vice President at GTT.

PaxOcean Singapore’s purpose-built LNG workshop is designed to support the maintenance and overhaul of critical components for LNG and LNG-fuelled vessels, including cargo containment systems, pumps, and valves. Key features include:

  • Workshop Dimensions: With a workshop size of 24 metres by 27 metres and a height of 13 metres, the facility can accommodate multiple ship sets simultaneously, supporting efficient workflow execution.
  • Advanced Lifting Capabilities: The workshop is equipped with three cranes to support a wider range of lifting operations within the facility, enhancing handling capability for LNG-related works.
  • Segregated Workspaces: The facility incorporated segregated workspaces, including dedicated loading and unloading zones, a controlled handling room, and a separate PPE donning area. This layout supports enhanced cleanliness control and operational safety during LNG-related maintenance activities.

These facility enhancements reflect PaxOcean’s long-term commitment to developing LNG capabilities and delivering high standards of safety, quality, and reliability to support customer requirements.
